Notes	Since December survey significant snow fell, followed by stretch of bitter cold weather, then warm, cloudy days with much snow melt. Day of this survey began foggy, then cleared to cloudless skies. Light conditions were excellent for seeing coloration of birds, even at some distance. Shallow sheet water areas in fields and marshes were ice-free from recent warm days. Smaller streams were open and running freely, while main channel and deep water areas of Mississippi were ice-covered.
